Coconut Cream Pie Recipes

Start your preparation with the basic step. Combine sugar, salt and cornstarch first and then mix well all together. Thereafter, mix scalded milk into the cornstarch mixture by gradually stirring and mixing. Put a pan over the stove with medium flame and pour mixture into it. Take a boil and also stir the mixture constantly in order to avoid any curdling of contents. Boil the mixture for two minutes or wait until it becomes shiny and thickened. Take a small amount of pie mixture and add it into the well beaten egg mix. Blend this mixture well and then add it into the rest of the mixture.
However, you should take care to avoid any type of curdles in the mixture. For this avoidance, you have to stir the mixture regularly while mixing any thing in the mixture. Once you see the required thickness in the mixture, remove the pan from stove. Add margarine and vanilla essence in the mixture and stir it until it becomes smooth and light. Pour the mixture through sieve, so that you can avoid lumps. Place plastic wrapping over the filling and wait until it becomes cool. Thereafter, add the coconut extract and half cup coconut into cooled filling. Pour this filling in the pie shell and keep it for chilling. Dress the pie with whipped cream by mounding it in center. Thereafter, for more dressing you can sprinkle the fresh coconut over the pie and serve. With this recipe you can serve 10" pie easily.
